  • Transportation Trends with King's Limousine

Oklahoma wedding transportation - King's Limousine

Brides of Oklahoma recently spoke with the kings of wedding transportation – King’s Limousine & Private Jet – and got the scoop on the season’s transportation trends.

Q: What is the current trend in wedding transportation?
A: Brides and grooms are still interested in their wedding being beautiful and stylish and we provide a great way to embellish their style. They can do that through the classic black or white stretch limousine, a large, flashy vehicle or a vintage sedan. We also see more couples providing transportation for their out of town guests. That includes transportation from the airport, to rehearsals, dinners and the wedding and reception and can be provided in a number of vehicles ranging from a sedan, SUV, van or bus.

Q: How soon should you reserve wedding transportation?
A: As early as possible. Especially if there is a specific vehicle you know you want to use or if you have a “popular” date during a busy season. It’s not uncommon for us to book transportation a year in advance.

Q: What types of vehicles do you provide?
A: Anything from 8 – 10 passenger black stretch limousines, 12 passenger black or white super stretch limousines, and a 14 passenger black Mercedes Coach (think party bus, but with style). We also have our 1958 white Jaguar Mark IV sedan, a beautiful vintage automobile that makes a great addition to your event and looks superb in pictures. We also have sedans, SUVs, vans, and buses for guest transportation as well as to and from the airport.

Q: Do you offer wedding packages or special services?
A: We don’t have any “pre-packaged” plans. We like to take each couple’s needs and customize something that fits their desires. We can arrange transportation previous to the wedding day for any number of needs, bachelor and bachelorette parties, luncheons, rehearsals, and wedding day transportation. And discounts certainly apply. At no extra charge we offer red carpet service, champagne, glassware, beverages, and “Just Married” signs.

Q: What is the most unusual request you’ve received?
A: We’ve been asked to pose as the Secret Service so a man could spy on his wife. We declined. We’ve had requests to provide a hearse at a wedding. We declined. We had a gentleman ask if we would park along a specific spot on a street so that he and his soon to be fiancé could be whisked away to dinner immediately after he proposed on their evening walk. We accepted.

Thanks so much to Joey King of King’s Limousines in Oklahoma City! Check out the gorgeous Jaguar we used in the behind the scenes footage at Gaillardia—thanks to Von Wedding Films! The videographers recently started using this digital video format called Video35 — it has an old school vibe that we love! Tatanka Ranch provided a stunning backdrop for the day and the twinkle light and candlelit reception made for some enchanting footage. The song chosen to complement the video is Ben Harper’s captivating “Waiting on an Angel This video is sure to make you smile! • Perfect Homestead Affair

Wedding plans and design by Cathy Johnson Weddings and cake designed by Amy Cakes

While browsing the online wedding galleries of Oklahoma wedding planner Cathy Johnson, we found a wedding we had to share — only to discover we'd found the wedding of a celebrity from Oklahoma!  The bride, Daphne Bloomer, is an Oklahoma native who moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting. She currently plays Eugenia Williams on Days of Our Lives and has had appearances on 24 and Crossing Jordan — way to go Daphne! Back in Oklahoma for her big day, the bride desired a relaxed, comfortable feel. She and her wedding planner, Cathy Johnson, started their grand design ideas with a single green apple. From that apple, grew ideas for the fun and laid-back atmosphere Daphne had dreamed of! Her cute, three-tiered cake was a creation from Amy Cakes. We also had to share the picnic basket cake, candy buffet and tiers of cupcakes — guests definitely weren't lacking in the sweets department! Every detail made this the perfect homestead affair! This beautiful event was captured by Kevin Paul Photography.

  • Make Your First Dance Memorable

Surprise your guests with a choreographed routine that’s sure to be a hit at the reception.  Brittany and Derec, featured on pages 79-83 of the Spring/Summer 2009 issue, kept their first dance a huge secret from their friends, family and guests who perhaps expected the first dance to be little more than the standard hug and sway. After a minute of dancing to Brad Paisley’s sentimental ballad “She’s Everything,” these two unexpectedly broke into a carefully choreographed number that combined “every goofy dance we could remember, like Thriller and other silly dances that would make people laugh.”   While this sort of routine may not suit all personalities, a well-choreographed first dance is worth the investment. Wow your guests and share a very special moment with your new hubby with a choreographed dance that will leave your guests captivated. It’s best to work with a professional dance instructor to learn a dance that suits your personal style.  Premier Wedding Dances is a great resource when it comes to choreographed routines! Sheila of Premier Wedding Dances suggests booking your lessons months in advance in order to give yourself plenty of time to rehearse.  However, if you’re just weeks out from your big day, Premier Wedding Dances can still help you pull something together.  Contact Premier Wedding Dances at 405.209.9830.

  • An Unbelievably Creative Concert Wedding

Cody and Jen let their fun-loving personalities shine through and tied the knot in true concert style!  That’s right…a far cry from the ordinary, Jen’s vision of her wedding day really rocked (literally)!  We’re convinced it’ll be replicated by others!  We read about this wedding on the photographer’s blog and since he experienced everything first-hand, we wanted to share...

(From Josh's blog) Cody and Jenn both love art and music, good food and drink and having a great time with their friends and family...and thats exactly what their wedding day was! I remember in our consultation when Jenn tried to explain her vision to me, half way through I said " I'll be there, even if I'm not the photographer!"
It was the most fun I've had in a looong time.

So here's how it worked... They invited all their guests to a concert, told them to wear their concert t-shirts and come ready to have a good time. Grandpa Griffith and Lisa Curl brought the thunder with their hilarious musical stylings. They tied the knot right in the middle of the concert. There was even a feature song written just for them performed by Lisa Curl and GG lead singer Aaron Copeland. In the true sense of celebration, the ceremony included a free for all dance time where guests were invited up to the stage to cut loose.
