5 Hot Trends from Bridal Fashion Week

We’re still on cloud nine after getting to see all of the beautiful gowns from New York Bridal Fashion Week! With  some of the best and most recognizable bridal fashion designers in the world converging on New York City, we couldn’t wait to share a glimpse of all of their amazing gowns with our followers via live Instagram coverage! When all was said and done, we compared notes and pulled our five favorite trends from New York Bridal Fashion Week and the amazing Spring 2016 collections!

Three-Tier Skirts

3-tier-skirts

Adding a little whimsy to these already feminine styles, models walked three-tiered tulle skirt designs down the Bridal Fashion Week Runway. This added volume gives each design just enough bounce and flow to make the bride seem as though she’s gliding through her wedding. (Reem Acra, Monique Lhuillier – shop both locally at J.J. Kelly Bridal Salon)

High Necklines

We’re happy to see this classic neckline make an appearance on the catwalk this season! We saw designs ranging from this classic boatneck pictured to a high sweater-like cowl to sleeveless bejeweled numbers. Take your pick! (Lazaro – shop locally at J.J. Kelly Bridal Salon, Alvina Valenta – shop at Prescott Bridal)

Shimmer Effect

You know we love a little sparkle, and none is truer than a glittering gown! From embellished tops to head-to-toe sparkle, we were obsessing over these beaded beauties as they shimmered down the runway. (Lazaro – shop locally at J.J. Kelly Bridal Salon, Maggie Sottero – shop at Bella Rose Bridal, Moliere Bridal, RL Bridal & Prom, The Bridal Boutique)

Floral Embellishments

One look we imagine we’ll be seeing in many weddings to come is the asymmetric necklines and backs! Floral appliqués ran over illusion necklines, sexy cutouts were trimmed into bodices, and designers used structure and textures created these playful designs. (Monique Lhuillier, Austin Scarlett – shop both locally at J.J. Kelly Bridal Salon)

Corset Details

Designers were taking the inside elements of bridal gown structures and exposing them this season. Inspired by the corset, boning was exposed and fitted bodices made an appearance. This look makes adds a chic touch to any style of silhouette. (Reem Acra, Austin Scarlett – shop locally at J.J. Kelly Bridal Salon)
