A Chic Downtown Engagement Session for High School Sweethearts Who Said Yes to Forever

OKC brides who love a good cityscape are sure to get some great inspo from this chic downtown engagement session capturing a couple of cutie high school sweethearts who said yes to forever! We are THRILLED for our very own wedding editorial director, Hanna, to marry the love of her life – what better way to celebrate than with an engagement session by Emily Nicole Photo? Brushed Salon got Hanna all glammed up with makeup that let her gorgeous natural features pop, and Emily snapped away as Hanna and Hayden visited some of their favorite downtown spots including the Myriad Gardens and The Skirvin Hilton rooftop. Hanna and Hayden will marry this fall in a mod, contemporary wedding, and we cannot wait to see all the prettiness. Scroll down to read their oh-so-sweet proposal story, too. Congrats, Hanna + Hayden!

HOW DID YOU AND YOUR FIANCE MEET? We are high school sweethearts! We started dating when I was a freshman, age 15, and Hayden was a sophomore, age 16. To be honest, we disagree on when our first conversation actually was. We were friends for about a year before we started dating – he actually asked me to be his girlfriend probably six times before I actually said yes!

HOW DID YOUR FIANCE PROPOSE? He was living in Scottsdale, Arizona, at the time and I was visiting for a long weekend. The Phoenix Open golf tournament was going on that weekend, and we really had no other plans except for attending the tournament and spending time together after weeks of being apart. The first night I was there, one of my friends, whose family is from Scottsdale, texted us and asked if we wanted to come over for drinks and dinner, so we got dressed up and headed that way around sunset. As soon as we got there, we went straight to the backyard where it overlooked the mountains (the most beautiful view – especially with the sunset!), and he popped the question! After lots of pictures and calls to our families, we spent the night celebrating just the two of us, having dinner and reveling in our excitement of finally being engaged after dating for 7.5 years! Someone at the restaurant actually bought our meals that night too, and we still to this day have no idea who it was!
