An Engagement Session on Family Land Makes for a Meaningful Keepsake

Maegan and Colby’s love story proves that sometimes it’s just meant to be. When it came time for their engagement session, taking photos on family land made perfect sense and Chloe Photography helped create some absolutely beautiful keepsake images for this sweet couple to cherish. Walking through the fields at golden hour, hand-in-hand, you can see the pure joy and elation on Colby’s and Maegan’s faces. Chloe captured these two so sweetly in her signature bright, airy and romantic style, and we couldn’t wait to share! Make sure to scroll below to read the story of how they met and how Colby proposed. Congrats to these lovebirds!

How did you meet? “My stepdad introduced us. My now husband was best friends with my stepbrother, so my stepdad has known Colby since he was four years old. My mom and stepdad own a western store in Ardmore, and Colby came into the store one day to pick his boots up that he was getting repaired. At the time, my mom and stepdad were looking at houses to buy and didn’t know the exact location of one of the houses, but Colby did, so my stepdad talked him into going with us to look at it. That was really just my stepdad’s way of getting us together, and ever since that day we have been inseparable! We started dating in May of 2018, were engaged in December of 2018, and married by June of 2019!”

How did he propose? “He proposed in front of both of our families on December 23rd! He invited our families over for lunch at our house. We were all opening Christmas presents and he wanted me to open mine in front of everyone, so I opened one and it was a box of nails. I was so shocked because I had no idea why in the world he was giving me a box of nails and then next thing I knew he was pulling the ring out of his pocket and was down on one knee!”
