Anyone else dreaming of a fabulous beach vacay? We certainly are, especially after checking out this gorgeous retreat! Travel Expert Michelle Carbone with Michelle’s Destinations knows firsthand how to make the most of your honeymoon locale, which is why she is our go-to when it comes to where to stay, what to do and how to get there! Check out the second part of this two part series highlighting one of her favorite destinations, Bora Bora! Scroll on to get a look at what she loves about this dreamy honeymoon hotspot!

BORA BORA

Perks | Enjoy amazing food (love the French influence!), warm and welcoming locals, amazing water and views, snorkeling and diving, and of course, overwater bungalows!

Relaxation | Have breakfast delivered to your room by canoe, lay by the beach and have a Hinano (local beer) or some rum and pineapple juice (the most amazing pineapple juice I’ve ever had!). Enjoy a lunch in the water (yes, tables are in the water!) or get dropped off on a private Motu (island) for a picnic lunch and enjoy a few secluded hours.

Adventure | Hit the “road” in a Jeep safari and take a 4×4 tours. Dive into snorkeling and diving, fishing, whale and dolphin watching, hiking, shark and ray feeding and skydiving.

Dining | On Bora Bora, Bloody Mary’s is the most famous place to dine with your toes in the sand. It’s a Margaritaville style bar and restaurant on the water. In Moorea just down the road from the Hilton, is the Lilikoi Garden Cafe, great for a simple lunch that won’t break the bank. In Papeete, they have a food truck area that’s a ton of fun!

Shopping | Well known for their exquisite pearls, you’ll find that prices vary. I recommend heading to Papeete! Shop local crafts like sarongs, woven baskets and things like small bags made from coconuts as well as my favorite coconut oil, Tahiti Tiare oil, which smells amazing and can be used as a lotion or in your hair.

Accommodations | Famous for overwater bungalows, for most honeymooners this is a must. Some of my personal favorites are Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort & Spa, e Meridien Bora Bora, Hotel Kia Ora Resort & Spa, Tikehau Pearl Beach Resort and St Regis Bora Bora.
