What started as a “project” 10+ years ago for Kami Huddleston and Ashely Bowen Murphy, has become the umbrella company to the most sought after Oklahoma, North Texas and Austin wedding resources by region. Fondly referred to by the team as K&A, this inspiring duo saw a need for a local wedding publication shortly after planning weddings of their own and began the labor of love that’s so widely known in the Oklahoma community today. You’ll find K&A’s story of how Brides of Oklahoma (and it’s sister publications) came to be on pages 362-364 of the all-new 10th anniversary issue or online here along with a look at the new Brides of Oklahoma office!

Roam: A Wildly Romantic Wedding Gown Shoot

We are thrilled to finally start sharing more prettiness from the new 10th Anniversary issue! We’re kicking things off with the largest fashion shoot in the mag, our gown editorial featuring looks from Oklahoma’s best bridal boutiques. This shoot was an absolute dream come true! Dozens of ideas were presented as we sat around the conference room table dreaming about what we wanted to see in our gown shoot for the 10th Anniversary Issue. Being such a special and celebratory issue, we knew we wanted to push the envelope and do something we had never done before. This wildly romantic concept took us across the great state to remote salt flats that looked like something from another world. It was hard to believe that we were in Oklahoma and not on the white sandy beaches of some far off destination. The day could not have been more perfect and with Oklahoma weather, that’s somewhat of a miracle. With a pop up tent and a team of talented Oklahoma wedding vendors, we spent sun up to nearly sun down capturing the most beautiful collection of wedding gowns. We enlisted the help of Sarah Libby Photography whose talent we’ve long admired to capture the shoot. As you can see, she completely knocked it out of the park! We knew the incredibly talented Pen Weddings would be the perfect pick to document the day and we could not be more obsessed with the incredible footage this talented duo captured. Chelsey and Ali from Chelsey Ann Artistry killed it with hair and makeup; every look was perfectly executed with their own unique touches. Shimmering engagement rings from BC Clark Jewelers completed each bridal look. Emerson Events took our vision and used it to create the most stunning bouquets, floral adornments and an incredible lounge setting with pieces from Plenty Mercantile. Be sure to grab a copy of the mag to see all the prettiness in print, and make sure you scroll all the way to the end and watch the behind the scenes from Pen Weddings! Cheers!

We are still on cloud nine from yesterday’s 10th Anniversary cover reveal, we just couldn’t wait to share more from our cover bride Britton and hubby Kale’s vintage backyard garden wedding! The adorable floral invitations from Paper + More set the tone for the celebration – each one was individually tied with lace ribbon and adorned with a single stem of preserved lavender. Of course, the moment we laid eyes on Britton in her gorgeous Tara Keely gown from Prescott Bridal and her stunning maids in their blush Donna Morgan gowns from Prim, we just knew they were destined to be on our cover! Britton’s fresh bouquet of peonies, garden roses and sweet pea flowers created by Poppy Lane Design and oh-so-lovely hair and makeup by Natasha Rae – Malorie Avaline – Beauty Unveiled completed her perfect bridal look! We adore all the special touches to this backyard reception from Marianne’s Rentals and Ruby’s Vintage Rentals as well as the delicious cakes crafted by Amy Cakes and topped with florals in hues of pink and peach. Oklahoma wedding photographer Sarah Libby Photography expertly captured each and every detail from this sweet celebration, and we just couldn’t love it more! Find this gorgeous wedding in the new issue on pages A31-32 alongside dozens of other fabulous real Oklahoma weddings! The new mag will hit newsstands next week, but you can be one of the first to get your hands on the celebratory 10th Anniversary issue by pre-ordering today – plus we’re offering free shipping on orders of two or more. Many cheers to Britton and Kale!
