Lauren Grybowski and Andrew Zirtzman’s Rooftop Wedding at Plenty Mercantile Captured by Deisy Photography
How Andrew and Lauren didn’t meet before they did is beyond them. The couple met through mutual friends that they had both known for years, but they never seemed to be at the same place at the same time.
After maneuvering a long-distance relationship for a few months, Andrew and Lauren both moved to Oklahoma City. Lauren, eager for the proposal, started looking for every opportunity that Andrew could propose. Andrew, meanwhile, was dead set on surprising her. Lauren was convinced that he would propose when the couple traveled to Denver in November 2015. But their return flight came, and — no diamond! A week later, on December 2, Lauren’s birthday, Andrew proposed at 6 a.m. before they started their work day. Andrew succeeded in surprising Lauren! The couple enjoyed a celebratory breakfast and then went to work. That night, they joined friends and family for a birthday and engagement celebration. Then came wedding planning.
The couple knew they wanted a fall wedding, but the date couldn’t interfere with their love of football season. They finally picked October 4 and were married near downtown Oklahoma City in Automobile Alley. They chose Plenty Mercantile as a venue, which provided a perfect rooftop wedding with a great view of the OKC skyline.
Surrounded by their closest family and friends, the couple were married by one of the groom’s best friends from his hometown. Andrew and Lauren danced their first dance to “Stand by Me,” sang by a close friend of the couple.
Mutual friends brought the Andrew and Lauren together, and they’re grateful to now share friends and memories together for the rest of their lives.
