And, it was entirely unfair to tell you about this award without also telling you about the fabulous team behind the wedding and all of the wedding details! The Fischer/Speakes wedding featured in the January, 2008 issue of The Brides of Oklahoma magazine (pages A10 and A11) was a wedding fit for royalty. The bride chose a palette of soft shades of pink, champagne and white. She wore a Monique Lhuillier gown and dressed her maids in formal candy-pink Italian satin gowns from the Watters collection, all available at J.J. Kelly Bridal. The grandiose five-tier cake was draped in handmade gum paste flowers, a splendid creation of Mishelle Handy Cakes. For her florals, the bride chose Oklahoma City florist, The French Tulip, who created beautiful bouquets of pink and champagne roses, pink and white peonies, hydrangea and accents of stephanotis with pearls. Soft candlelight and specialty accent lighting set a majestic mood at Gaillardia Country Club, as the bride and groom entered the reception through a military saber arch and danced to the tunes of a 12-piece band, Dave & The Wavetones, booked through Box Talent Agency. The groom is a Lieutenant in the Army and comes from a family with a rich history of military service. In noble fashion, the couple incorporated formal, military elements throughout, and even cut the cake with the groom’s grandfather’s military saber!
