Surprise Rooftop Proposal

Jacob knew that I wanted to look nice and fancy for our proposal and knew that I thought a rooftop proposal with a skyline background would be cool. But he never knew how to do that without me thinking anything about the occasion. He is in law school and was just about to finish an internship at a firm he really wanted to work at after graduation. One day last July, he told me that some lawyers at the firm invited him and a plus one to a philanthropy dinner at The Skirvin and asked me to come with him. I genuinely thought this event was a real thing and I accompanied him to what I thought was it. We parked in the parking garage next to The Skirvin and he walked me up to the top of the garage and told me there was a sky bridge there connecting the garage to the hotel. I began to think this was a little suspicious but did not yet think he would propose to me. But as we continued to walk, he told me to put the purse I was carrying on the ground, and then I knew. He confessed there was no such thing as this philanthropy event and then got on one knee, pulled out the ring, and told me an inside joke between us that he had previously joked that he would say when proposing to me. Immediately after, he asked me if I would marry him and I said yes, completely in disbelief and thinking I was in a dream. As soon as he put the ring on my finger, a few of my friends that were hiding ran out from their hiding spots and we all celebrated. After a brief photoshoot, he treated me to a nice dinner and drove me to a surprise party that he and some of my friends set up! He did so well and it was the best day of my life so far!
