Folkways: Dessert Bar Inspiration from The Wild Mother

Delight in beautifully styled desserts and thoughtful details in this folksy dessert bar inspiration from The Wild Mother, shot by the one and only Rachel Photographs! A unique contrast is presented through the combination of soft, muted florals along with delicate pastries from The Round House Bakery, arranged among the bold and modern design of Holloway House. Mood Party Rentals supplied the dreamiest draping creating an elegant setting, while Celeste Paper Co. created the loveliest invitations featuring intricately scripted calligraphy. Our model bride embodied a vintage goddess as she fashioned a jaw-dropping lace gown paired with gorgeous open-toed heels from Chantilly Couture. Hair and makeup from Blo. completed her look with light, natural makeup and a beautifully braided up-do. Look out for a word from the planner to learn more about the vision behind this shoot and keep following along on the blog as we continue sharing more from our Love Scene editorial over the next several weeks, directly from the pages of our Spring/Summer 2018 issue!

From the planners, Lauren, Callie & Leah of The Wild Mother: “As we began conceptualizing our vision for this shoot we affectionately call Folkways, we looked no further than the heirloom pieces that have been passed down to us and our brothers for safe keeping – an old handwritten love note; a delicate jeweled ring worn for decades by our great-grandmother; the sprawling land that has yielded the richest fruits and vegetables; and tried-and-true bundt pans which have come from the oven, piping hot with 7up cake. It was in the worn colors and feminine textures where we put most of our efforts, providing something soft against the modern and handsome backdrop of our Holloway House.”
