A Special Moments Proposal

We got engaged March 25th, 2016! Jordan and I are were both students at Oklahoma Baptist University. That year, Easter came early falling on the weekend after spring break, so my family agreed to come celebrate Easter with me because I had just been home. We also arranged we would take family pictures for Easter, and then go out to a nice dinner with Jordan’s family the evening of Good Friday. As we leaving for dinner, Jordan’s dad mentioned Jordan and I needed to go out to their land to check on it real quick, because Jordan and his dad “weren’t sure they shut the gate” while they were out working that morning. (Backstory: their property is a very special place for Jordan and I. We have shared many special moments there including: our first Valentine’s Day spent together, the weekend I met Jordan’s family he surprised me and took me out there to watch the sunset, and it is the spot we carved our initials into a tree). When we got to their property, I saw a beautiful pergola Jordan had built by hand over Spring Break, the week before. The pergola was decorated with curtains, lanterns, and sunflowers. Jordan led me over to it and began expressing to me how much he loved me. We were both crying and then he got down on one knee, pulled the ring out of his boot, and asked me to marry him. I said YES! Jordan took me to a fancy Italian restaurant to soak in the moment with just the two of us, and then he surprised me with an engagement party to celebrate with all of our close family and friends.
