About the Design
I’ve been dreaming of a design that included some amazing hand painted gold Empress Cicadas that I saw for sale online. I was toying with the creative process on how to apply bugs to cake…and, still have the end result look appealing. I kept the overall design simplistic, and really put the extra time and detail into the Cicadas. I wanted them to be the standout, yet remain soft and approachable.

About the Artist
I look at cake as an opportunity to showcase flavors! When I design cake flavors, I put a massive amount of time into creating and perfecting the flavor profiles of each cake. I would like to think I create cake for foodies…people who care about the way the cake tastes just as much as they care about the way the cake looks! Building a one-on-one relationship with clients is integral for weddings. When clients decide to book their wedding day with me, they essentially book me for the entire week of their wedding.  I don’t ever overbook weddings or offer consultations on weekends simply for this reason.

Perks of the Job
