Alexa and Christopher first met at a mutual friend’s wedding in Philadelphia where Alexa was living at the time. They were both in the wedding party, and there was an instant connection between them. They spent the night toasting the newlyweds and dancing the night away, spending as much time together as they could before Chris had to return to Oklahoma for his military service. They stayed in touch and visited each other when they were able, and as soon as the distance became easier, Chris received orders to deploy. The limited communication opportunities during that time tested their relationship, but in the end it only solidified their efforts and faith that they were meant to be together! Alexa moved to Oklahoma when he returned, and nine months later, Chris proposed at the Lake Hefner Lighthouse where they once had their first date.

Three weeks after their romantic proposal, Chris deployed again so the couple had to wait almost two years for their special day. Alexa and Chris were married on May 29, 2016, atop the steps of the Gaylord-Pickens Oklahoma Heritage Museum in front of all their family and friends who had traveled from across the country. Alexa looked gorgeous as she walked down the aisle in a tulle bridal gown with a crystal bodice carrying an all-white floral bouquet. The couple had their first dance to “Best Friend” by Jason Mraz. Their most memorable moment from the wedding was when they said their vows: Alexa got excited and prematurely said, “I do,” when repeating after the Chaplain, which Chris thought was an adorable moment he will always remember.

After the ceremony, Chris surprised Alexa with a honeymoon in Riviera Maya, Mexico. The happy couple is currently enjoying married life in Georgia.
