There’s something so intimate about backyard weddings, we just love this one captured by Kristina Gaines Photography. Read more of Madi and Kyle’s story:
Madi and Kyle met in high school when she was 15 and he was 16. The pair was high school sweethearts until Madi graduated and they parted ways. Several years later, after college and some growing up, Madi and Kyle rekindled their relationship and became friends, eventually dating again. This time around they both knew that something was different; this was real. After dating for a year and a half, Kyle proposed in Dauphin Island while vacationing with her family.
The wedding took place on a gorgeous day on the front lawn of her parent’s home amongst blooming rose bushes. Madi wore a striking Spanish veil and Kyle sported a crisp white jacket and bowtie, which Gatsby himself would have approved of. The reception was held in the back yard of the home, when the night was cool and clear, and the gold and white lanterns cast a delicate glow across the scene. The music of Frank Sinatra, sung by Wade Tower, inspired guests to dance and laugh near the pool, which was filled with glittering tea lights. Guests nibbled on butternut squash ravioli, tapas, grilled vegetables and imported cheeses. Toasts were given by the bride’s father and sister as well as the best man. Glasses clinked with champagne, Old Fashioned and French wine. One of the decks held a moonshine and cigar bar, which added to the Prohibition feel of the wedding. Every table sported silver pieces of different sizes, many of them filled with white roses. The wedding cake had lovely jewels pattered across the front in an art deco style structure and was cut using the bride’s father’s Air Force saber. At the end of the night, Madi and Kyle said their final toasts with Dom Perignon.
