Bridal Beauty Tips from Malorie Avaline – Beauty Unveiled

malorieavaline_beautyspotlight_blog

Beauty insight for the big day is on every bride’s mind, so we sat down with local hair and makeup artist Malorie from Malorie Avaline – Beauty Unveiled to bring you the 411 on the latest bridal beauty tips and trends!

What are the advantages of doing a make-up trial run before the big day?
A trial not only gives your artist the opportunity to get familiar with your skin type/texture but it also allows you to test out your artist and see if their skill level aligns with your vision.

What advice do you have for a bride trying to find the right look for her day?
Most brides have a certain look or feeling that they envision on their wedding day. Look for inspiration photos that go with your theme. Figure out what that dream look is and go over it with your artist. A true professional will be able to guide you in the direction to a look that best suits you.

What beauty product should every bride have with her at all times?
Something to keep that pout soft! Be it a lip gloss, your favorite lip stick or a nice lip balm. No one likes dry lips, so keep those babies moisturized.

What beauty trends do you predict for the fall?
For makeup: Full lashes and bold lips are a way to make a strong statement. There are various ways to achieve both looks. For hair: The days of cookie cutter hair are gone. Embrace your natural texture, play up a style with a unique hair accessory or try a fun twisted loop in place of the ever loved top knot.

What’s your favorite shade of lipstick?
I have two! Favorite pink is Bombshell by MAC and favorite nude is NARS Lipcover in Overheated. It’s a lip color and gloss in one.

Do you recommend false lashes?
I absolutely recommend some kind of lash enhancement for the wedding day and any photos leading up to your big day – engagements, bridals etc. Choosing either a strip lash or getting lash extensions will help to open up your eye and elevate your look.

How can a bride keep her make-up looking fresh and flawless throughout her big day?
Make sure the correct products are used before applying makeup. Makeup primers and oil mattifiers are very important. Also, use a makeup setting spray or powder after your makeup is applied.

Any other helpful beauty tips for brides-to-be?
I say it often, but water does wonders for your skin and hair. It keeps your body hydrated from the inside. I am a big advocate for drinking plenty of water, taking a daily vitamin and getting plenty of rest! Your skin will look more supple and your hair will be shinier with these three things in play.
