From the moment they laid eyes on each other, Katie and Jared knew they were meant to be. Ever since Katie’s friend played Cupid and set the two up on a double date, the pair has been inseparable.
The couple was on a ski trip with friends in Crested Butte, Colorado when Jared gathered the courage to pop the question. On the second day, fresh off the ski lift, the group stood on top of the mountain and Jared got down on one knee. He proposed surrounded by snow, evergreens and the couple’s closest friends. Katie excitedly said yes and felt like she was on top of the world
Katie’s dream wedding gown from Allure Bridals had special significance to her since she found it on her late grandmother’s birthday. Her grandmother sweetly made her presence known during this special time in Katie’s life. On April 16, 2016, Katie made her way down the aisle toward Jared in a romantic, scalloped lace dress with a long, elegant chapel-length train.
The classically romantic, charming southern wedding took place at Chisholm Springs Event Center and overflowed with beautiful tones of navy, ivory, blush and gold. The most memorable moment for the couple was experiencing their first look. For those few minutes before the commotion began, Katie and Jared took it all in – the sights, the smells, the sounds, the emotion – and it was unforgettable!
Following the perfect ceremony, the newlyweds took off for a blissful honeymoon in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Katie and Jared currently reside in Oklahoma City.
