Chic Southern Wedding from Leslie Herring Events | Brittany + Hank

Brittany and Hank first met during their freshman year of high school at Oklahoma Christian School. The two became high school sweethearts after a memorable Fourth of July celebration on Grand Lake. After an internship in Washington, D.C. came to a close, Brittany traveled to her family’s lake house for her favorite holiday – Independence Day. After dinner, Hank tricked Brittany into walking to the dock where twinkle lights and gifts led her to him waiting on one knee. Without hesitation, Brittany said yes!

On June 13, 2015, Brittany and Hank’s big day had arrived. The high school sweethearts decided to have a southern chic wedding at Brittany’s parent’s land that features lots of greenery. Overwhelmed with choosing a color scheme, Brittany was drawn to flowers as her main wedding inspiration. The couple’s outdoor wedding was bright and whimsical with pops of color among natural greenery and wood. The colorful blooms were incorporated into the wedding cake, which was an amazing naked cake dripping with beautiful flowers.

With the help of their families, the entire day was full of personal touches. Brittany had always dreamt of her father walking her down the aisle, and that moment will forever mean the world to her. Brittany included many touches of family during the ceremony – from taking communion with the couple’s parents to the special pieces Brittany’s grandpa hand-made for their special day. Brittany even included three blue hearts sewn into the inside of her dress made from her dad, granddad and grandpa’s T-shirts.

Brittany and Hank spent their honeymoon in beautiful Turks and Caicos. The couple currently resides in Edmond and is enjoying married life.
