Meridith and David first met in high school. In typical Meridith fashion, she texted him first and they quickly formed an unbreakable bond rooted in friendship with each other and those around them. These same friends stood beside them as they fought for their love and eventually exchanged vows years later.

In 2012, David was diagnosed with osteosarcoma of the spine. Meridith didn’t flinch in her decision to stay with David as they transported him to Boston. She held his hand through grueling surgeries and replenished his soul during the draining rounds of chemo and radiation. Meridith and David have never let that experience define them or their relationship, for through it all they stayed true to their relationship – they leaned on family, laughed with friends and grew together in love. They lived the true definition of “in sickness and in health.”

Meridith says the proposal was a long time coming, but David still managed to surprise her. David created a nostalgic backyard wonderland by displaying old pictures and sprinkling rose petals on the ground. Of course, all their friends were there ready to celebrate.

Meridith wanted their wedding to feel classic and timeless. She chose shades of white and cream as her backdrop. She also wanted the day to be a celebration of love and life surrounded by the people who supported and loved them through their journey. The whimsical, light ambiance served as the perfect stage for the couple to begin their new chapter of life. As David stood at the end of the aisle on that beautiful May day, he stood tall and triumphant over the cancer that so long plagued him and their relationship. He beamed with pride as he watched his bride walk toward him, a moment they both dreamed of since high school.
