Marlee and Francis met through Marlee’s best friend, who just happened to be Francis’ cousin. After a short encounter, they were reintroduced at a birthday party a few years later. At the party, Francis was showing everyone his new phone when he snapped a picture of Marlee. He teased her that now he needed a phone number to go along with the picture he took of her. The couple’s relationship blossomed from there and they began dating.
As Francis planned out the proposal, he did not expect it to be filled with so many obstacles. He first planned a trip to the annual Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta in New Mexico; Marlee had always wanted to ride in a hot air balloon and Francis thought it would be the perfect opportunity. When they arrived, it was too cold, so Marlee did not feel like climbing into a hot air balloon. After that opportunity fizzled, Francis opted for his backup plan. He planned on asking for Marlee’s hand while on vacation in Colorado Springs. With a few minor obstacles, the pair made it to the scenic Garden of the Gods where Francis got down on one knee and asked for Marlee’s hand in marriage. She happily accepted!
On April 18, 2015, Marlee and Francis’ dream wedding came to fruition just as they had hoped. They used a beautiful color scheme of gold, ivory, peach and blush, which was inspired by a beautiful array of peach and blush peonies that Marlee loved. The bride’s wedding gown was absolutely gorgeous; it was a beautiful mermaid-shaped gown with a fitted bodice and sweetheart neckline.
As their amazing night came to an end, the newlyweds prepared for their honeymoon in Rome, Venice, Athens, Mykonos and Santorini. Marlee and Francis are now spending their happily ever after in Oklahoma City.
