Conner and Ty met when they were juniors in high school. Conner’s aunt was the band director at Ty’s high school, and she had spread the word to students that she had a single niece. This prompted Ty to send Conner a Facebook message, and the rest is history!

Six years later, Conner had planned a surprise going away party for Ty before he left for boot camp. She had hired a photographer to take pictures at the party. As Conner and Ty were taking pictures in an old barn on his family farm, he completely surprised Conner by popping the question!

Conner and Ty were married at the rustic yet elegant 81 Ranch. They loved the convenience of the location as well as the option to have the ceremony and reception at the same venue. Their rustic-chic wedding consisted of a color palette of burgundy, gold and navy that was inspired by Ty’s Marine Corps uniform. The bride wore an A-line, strapless lace gown with a sweetheart neckline by Casablanca.

Conner felt absolutely giddy as she stood at the altar to say, “I do,” to the man of her dreams. Her most memorable moment was when the pastor asked the couple to turn to their crowd to take a mental picture of everyone there to celebrate with them.

At the reception, Mandy’s Catering served chicken and steak skewers for the newlyweds and their guests. The meal was followed by a delicious four-tier white cake with raspberry filling by Bev’s Cakes. The cake was adorned with stunning florals by Enid Floral. Firehouse DJ played “Say You Won’t Let Go” by James Arthur for the bride and groom’s first dance.

Conner loved working with her photographer, Holly Gannett, and her baker, Beverly Bierig. Both women worked hard to make her experience everything she had envisioned. They helped personalize her wedding and they were always there to help with whatever she needed.

Throughout the wedding planning process, Conner learned to enjoy every single second and to not sweat the small stuff. She advises future brides that if they’re going to splurge on anything, splurge on an amazing photographer.

Conner and Ty enjoyed a gorgeous honeymoon in St. Lucia. They are currently loving married life in Newport, North Carolina.
