Dressed so chic, Morgan and Layne’s love and the scenic Oklahoma City skyline are both on full display in this downtown OKC engagement captured by Amanda Watson Photography (featuring a surprise appearance of the Oklahoma Hall of Fame and Gaylord-Pickens Museum)! Morgan and Layne’s story first began when they met unexpectedly in Lubbock, Texas while Morgan was going into her sophomore year at Texas Tech and Layne was about to begin his junior year at Oklahoma State. Like most summer romances, he was there to stay the break with his grandma and work at the Lubbock Country Club golf course. Layne became friends with his Mimi’s neighbor, who also happened to know Morgan. The neighbor suggested they all hang out over the break, and over those summer nights, new friendship finally progressed to Morgan and Layne’s first date. Layne took her to his grandpa’s farm where Morgan says she realized he was the most “country boy” her Houston suburb self had ever encountered, and she was smitten! The worst thing about every summer is that it has to end some time, and soon enough it was time for Layne to return back to Oklahoma. Naturally, the couple decided long distance could work and for two and a half years they took turns driving to each other, eager to soak up any weekend time they could! Morgan said the distance actually motivated her to graduate college early and make the move to Oklahoma City to be closer to Layne. They’ve been together for seven years now, and it seems like it’s been nothing short of an incredible journey! We’re glad they have these gorgeous downtown OKC engagement photographs from Amanda Watson Photography to help commemorate their love and this sweet time in their relationship and lives! Read on for the bride’s sweet story about how he popped the question. Cheers to Morgan and Layne!

From the bride: “We took a trip with Layne’s family to Vegas to celebrate his sister’s college graduation. On our first night there, we had a dinner reservation at the bottom of the Bellagio hotel to continue celebrating the college graduate. Once the orders were in, the restaurant’s photographer (unplanned) began taking pictures of the whole family. The photographer was about to leave when Layne requested one more photo. At that moment he stood me up, got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. The photographer was able to capture the moment and his whole family erupted in cheers and crying. Layne had kept it his little secret so everyone was in shock, including me!”
