Madison and Chase’s Delayed + Dreamy Tented Wedding Reception

As if weddings aren’t sweet enough already, we got to witness one of our very own tie the knot too! Madison, assistant project manager here at The Brides of Oklahoma office, and her beau Chase made their love official first in an immediate-family-only ceremony during COVID-19 followed by this dreamy tented reception with garden details in shades of peach, pink, yellow, and blue a few months later. Planned and designed by Ever Something who provided all the romantic florals for the day as well, every scene around this September soiree was so tastefully styled. Madison and Chase have known each other for a while since Chase’s mom was Madison’s first grade teacher, but the two were never really friends until high school. Junior year, he asked her to prom and after that, he started finding what Maddy says were “pretty lame” excuses to randomly text her. Eventually she asked him to bring his old standard over for a chance to show off her driving skills. He took her up on the offer and afterward the pair stopped at Braum’s for ice cream as any true Oklahoma couple should! In their first and official wedding ceremony, neither party’s grandparents were in attendance, or anyone beyond their immediate families to be safe. Thinking more small-scale from the beginning, Maddy says this wasn’t as difficult as she thought it would be, but there were still a few sentimental moments she remembers from the day. “I wasn’t very attached to the large wedding we originally planned, so when COVID hit and things had to be rearranged, I was actually pretty relieved,” Maddy says. “On the morning of, I had a lot of calls and texts from friends and family members who should have been there. My grandma texted me a photo of my great grandparents on their wedding day – a simple, black and white portrait of them together. They had gone to the courthouse to say their vows and get their marriage license, then start a life together. The simplicity! It brought me to happy tears thinking about how full their life was and how I inadvertently ended up with a tiny wedding too – solely about vows and a lifelong commitment.”

That is absolutely what it’s all about! In their dreamy tented wedding reception, the bridal party mixed and matched bridesmaids’ gowns in delicate floral patterns just perfect for the garden theme. Organic and natural rentals from Party Pro Rents like bentwood chairs, rattan rentals, and a few boho baskets combined textures for a stunning weddingscape on private property. The tents and lighting brought so much romance and guests enjoyed a delicious dinner followed by a slice of this breathtaking three-tiered wedding cake from Allie’s Baking Boutique designed with iced leafy details, fresh florals and a few sliced figs. They danced the night away to jams played by entertainment from Box Talent Agency and though their dreamy tented wedding wasn’t the original plan, they made so many memories to last a lifetime! Read on for a note from the bride about one of her most helpful wedding vendors and what made them so special. Cheers to Mrs. and Mrs. Kurtz!

From the bride: “I truly would have given up and eloped if it weren’t for Olivia at Ever Something. And even then I would have still hired Olivia to help me plan our elopement! She has to be one of the hardest-working people I have ever met. She communicated with me regularly, helped me stay on top of contracts and important deadlines and literally jumped on the dance floor to teach my wedding guests a line dance at the reception.”
