Emily Hergenreter and Matt Towery’s Airy Industrial Oklahoma Wedding Captured by Josh McCullock

Matt and Emily met in Charlotte, North Carolina, just after college. They had several mutual friends but hadn’t crossed paths until spring of 2014 — or at least, that’s what Emily thought. Matt later admitted that he added Emily on Facebook two years earlier because he saw her at a school event and thought she was cute. A year after they met, Matt proposed to Emily in a park in Uptown Charlotte, across from the baseball stadium jumbo TV screen, which read “Will you marry me?”

Emily moved to Oklahoma City for work a month after the proposal, and Matt moved three months later to join her. They got married a year later. It has been bliss ever since.

It was important to Emily and Matt that their wedding expressed their unique personalities. They agreed to only do things they found meaningful. For the ceremony, they had six nieces as flower girls — counting Emily’s sister-in-law’s baby bump — six bridesmaids and three groomsmen, all of whom sat during the ceremony. Matt and Emily love pizza, so they served pizza for the reception meal. And they’re obsessed with doughnuts, so they chose that as their dessert.

The couple had great experiences with their vendors, including the photographer, who felt like a family member by the end of the day. Their wedding planners had great timing as well. Overall, it was an intimate, perfectly executed, unforgettable night.
