Fall Oklahoma Wedding at Park House at Myriad Gardens | Katherine + Taylor

Katie and Taylor met on a fun-filled Memorial Day weekend when they were at the lake with friends. Katie remembered being impressed with Taylor, but they never got the chance to talk. Soon after, Katie was out for a run around the lake when Taylor and a mutual friend pulled up to her family’s lake house. Taylor was house-hunting and looking to move to the area after enjoying his time the past weekend. Katie’s family invited the guys in for drinks and conversation. This was the first time Katie and Taylor had a chance to talk, and they realized they shared similar interests and a lot of connections. The next day Katie and Taylor went on a boat ride together, and it was then that they realized they were meant to be together.

Years later, Taylor shocked Katie with the best question on Labor Day. Taylor had convinced Katie they were going to a semi-formal event at a restaurant on the water and they would be taking the boat. Right before it was time to leave, Taylor asked Katie for help taking the wakeboards and skis out of the boat. Feeling rushed on time, Katie started to scurry down to the boat when Taylor told her to slow down and walk with him. It wasn’t until she realized that his hands were shaking that something was up. Taylor led her to the dock where they had met, and he got down on one knee and proposed.

Katie and Taylor were married on October 3, 2015, at the Myriad Botanical Gardens. The couple celebrated by incorporating thoughtful details including hand-painted invitations, a custom-carved wine box and vintage family heirlooms. The couple said their favorite memory of the day was when they set aside time during the reception to sit and enjoy the food together. They loved sharing this special moment as it gave them a chance to talk and reflect on being married.

After the celebration, Katie and Taylor honeymooned in Paradise Island, Bahamas. The couple now resides in Edmond.
