Gorgeous jewel tones and a beautiful bride and groom make for one glam Oklahoma wedding! Camille and Ethan ‘s story is so adorable, read on for more:
Camille and Ethan were high school sweethearts. Both attended Oklahoma State University, but Camille graduated two years before Ethan and accepted a job in Oklahoma City. Distance couldn’t come between this couple; after several trips to Ardmore to speak with Camille’s family and many weekends together, Ethan planned a special surprise for Camille to take place the weekend of his college graduation.
The week of Ethan’s graduation, he sent Camille a letter explaining his excitement for the weekend and a book of love notes. When Camille arrived on campus for the weekend, Ethan took her to Theta Pond where he had laid out his great grandmother’s quilt and a picture book of their memories. Ethan proposed to Camille, and she excitedly said yes! Their families and friends were waiting nearby on Library Lawn to celebrate the couple’s engagement.
Camille Janee’ Thompson married Ethan William Bateman on April 11, 2015, at the First United Methodist Church in Ardmore. Camille wore a Lazaro mermaid gown of French alencon gold floss lace with a sweetheart bodice and cathedral-length train. Lace flowers released layers of sparkle tulle trimmed with bands of horsehair. A two-tiered veil of gossamer illusion hemmed with matching gold French lace from the Toni Federici Collection completed her look. A gold open-faced locket containing photos of her grandfathers was pinned to Camille’s bouquet.
In the middle of a walnut plaque made by the bride’s father hung a gold cord representing God. Camille’s mother added a white cord and Ethan’s mother added a blue cord representing the bride and groom. Camille and Ethan braided the “Cord of Three Strands” described in Ecclesiastes 4:12 during their ceremony to symbolize their promise to keep God at the center of their marriage.
The fairytale reception was held at the Ardmore Convention Center. The newlyweds shared their first dance to “Feels Like Home” by Chantal Kreviazuk. Camille’s Kappa Kappa Gamma sisters serenaded the couple as a tradition, and Ethan and his groomsmen surprised Camille with a special performance choreographed by the bride’s sister. Camille and Ethan then jetted off to a romantic honeymoon in St. Lucia before returning to their home in Ardmore.
