Grandmillennial Style Gets Modern Flair in this Whimsical Garden Wedding
January 14
Grandmillennial style gets a touch of modern flair in this whimsical wedding absolutely full of garden romance! We’re pretty sure Elaine and Sean are the coolest couple we’ve ever seen, as they met while both working together in Washington D.C. for the Senate, had their first date consist of a tour of the West Wing, and they even have an article written about them in the New York Times. Southwind Hills was the perfect venue for their whimsical garden party – providing everything from the bridesmaids’ luncheon to the catering to the florals – as it’s rustic setting with beautiful autumnal-colored leaves and wooden accents complement this punchy color palette of blues, purples and bright fuchsia too well. A clean and elegant white invitation suite from Paper + More with gold lettering made for flawless detail shots, as well as the addition of the couple’s stunning rings from Naifeh Fine Jewelry that added a little bit of eye-catching sparkle. A reception space full of hanging greenery and faux-marble linens from Party Pro Rents is the embodiment of grandmillennial style, bringing the garden party feel indoors with bunches of bright blooms and tons of natural light, accented by clear and gold decor throughout. After a cocktail hour with the most breathtaking views of the Oklahoma sunset, guests enjoyed an incredible meal from Southwind Hills while Royal Duke’s Band played soothing jazz tunes through the whole dinner. Amy Cakes created a delectable masterpiece of an all-white five tier wedding cake, complete with small white fondant flowers for the perfectly delicate cake of our dreams. After their reception, the celebration continued as the couple and a few guests made their way downtown to the 21c Museum Hotel where they partied into the late hours of the evening and then retreated to their luxury rooms for a nights rest. With the bride graduating from OSU and the groom from OU, there seems to be one thing they can both agree on, beating Texas, which is why the day after their wedding the celebration continued with a bowling party and watch party where they watched OU beat Texas in the Red River Rivalry – truly the perfect ending to their wedding weekend! Looking through all of the incredible photos of this day from Mary Keen Photography is like the gift that keeps on giving – not to mention that this couple’s gift registry was from the always-amazing Bebe’s, who had all of the wedding presents this couple could have dreamt of. She was always there when we needed her to capture a moment, willing to climb on any surface to get the perfect shot.
