Jessica and Matt met at his 28th birthday party. After winning Jessica over with his sweet words, she won Matt over with the best performance of “Genie in a Bottle” that Oklahoma City has ever seen. Soon they discovered Matt’s dad went to Duncan High School with Jessica’s parents, creating a special bond between the two families. It was meant to be!

After a year and a half of adventuring through life’s ups and downs together, Matt proposed in Jessica’s backyard with beautiful lights, candles and champagne. It was perfect, but Matt doesn’t settle for perfect; he had a surprise party with their favorite people waiting to celebrate. It was magic!
Eight crazy months later, the couple said, “I do.” Walking into the ceremony was a dream of dim lights, a string quartet, dramatic draping and towering floral arrangements of hydrangea, curly willow and eucalyptus. After sweet words were read by the bride’s cousins, including a letter to Jessica’s grandmother from her grandfather written on August 20, 1944, during World War II, Matt kissed his bride and the party began.

The couple kicked off the party by dancing to “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You.” The horn section and Matt’s dancing and dipping skills gave the guests quite a show while they relaxed and enjoyed a gorgeous dinner. As soon as the band started playing, guests did not stop dancing and the drinks did not stop flowing.

Marrying Matt was a dream come true, and luckily, another dream came true on that beautiful August evening: the father-daughter dance. A plane crash in 2000 made Jessica doubt her father’s ability to do so, but she will never forget looking into her dad’s eyes, thanking him for the most perfect night of her life, and thanking God for letting her enjoy it with her father.
