Mackenzie and Matthew met in the warm summer months of 2014. She had just graduated from the University of Arkansas and he had just relocated back to Fayetteville after working for a year in Memphis. They quickly became friends, which turned into much more.

For the couple’s two-year anniversary, Mackenzie and Matt traveled to Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Little did she know that Matt had been secretly planning the proposal for months! On their first night, Matt suggested they change into something nice before dinner, which struck Mackenzie as odd because Matt likes to be comfortable. After dinner, they went for an evening walk on the beach and she noticed he was acting weird. Matt began telling Mackenzie all the things he loves about her and got down on one knee. Totally taken by surprise, Mackenzie excitedly said yes. The couple spent the rest of their vacation reveling in newly engaged bliss!

The following months were filled with planning their perfect day. Mackenzie knew where she wanted to get married – Casady School. She spent her childhood attending Casady and it feels like a second home to her. The pair opted to have their reception at the historic Skirvin Hilton.

When their spring wedding day arrived, Mackenzie and Matt were filled with anxious joy. She was joyful because she was about to make the best decision in marrying a wonderful man, yet anxious because she doesn’t like to be the center of attention. When her father placed her hands into Matt’s, she felt a weight lift off her shoulders and everything else fell out of sight.

Exchanging vows was deeply personal to the couple and a part of their special day they never want to forget.
