Beautiful doesn’t even begin to describe Julie and Dallas’ wedding. We love the traditional ceremony at First Church and the glitzy reception at The Skirvin Hilton. Read more of their sweet story below:
On May 3, 2012, Julie McCann and Dallas Dye met on a blind date. Julie’s long-time friend set them up and no one had any idea that the two would fall in love and marry. Their first date was at Louie’s Lakeside, where they enjoyed dinner and drinks while watching the Oklahoma City Thunder basketball game. Dallas and Julie thoroughly enjoyed being in each other’s company, and Dallas soon decided he wanted to ask Julie to be his wife. So, one night after a very delicious steak dinner prepared by Dallas, he presented Julie with a photo album with pictures from the couple’s trips to San Antonio, Eureka Springs, Chicago and many other adventures at home. While Julie flipped through the book and came to the last page, she found the words “To Be Continued…” and at that moment Dallas dropped to one knee and proposed. Julie could not answer, “Yes!” fast enough!
Soon, the wedding planning began with the help of The Wedding Belle. Julie spent months planning her dream wedding and picking out the perfect details. Finally, on April 5, 2014, the two were married at the First United Methodist Church with a reception at the Skirvin Hilton hotel to follow. Julie looked stunning in her strapless satin Mikaella gown. Her gown was a diamond color and had a crossover pleated tunic bodice, accompanied by a side-pleated skirt that draped into a full sweeping train. Matching satin buttons adorned the back of the gown and a beaded Mikaella sash embellished her waist. Her veil was a Toni Federici fingertip veil with a small ribbon edge to complement the gown. While walking down the aisle, Julie carried a loosely tailored bouquet of creamy white flowers with touches of rustic greenery. Adding sentiment to her day, Julie attached a prayer book of her mother’s to her bouquet. She also accessorized her look with the diamond from her maternal grandmother’s wedding ring made into a delicate necklace. Julie says she will never forget how she felt seeing Dallas standing at the altar waiting for her to walk down the aisle to him.
The couple enjoyed a night celebrating with friends and family at their beautiful reception hosted by Kelly and Gail McCann, Jr. Their first dance was to the sweet song, “Everything” by Micheal Buble. At the end of the night, the couple took off for their honeymoon in Oahu, Hawaii. They enjoyed a long week relaxing on the beach. Upon returning to Edmond, they are enthusiastic about starting their lives together.
