Rachael and Brian met in 2010 in college during homecoming when their Greek chapters were paired. But the two never hung out until they graduated in 2014, and their friends talked them both into going to an Oklahoma City Red Hawks game. They talked and got drinks afterward. Brian asked for Rachael’s number, and the next day, he asked her on a lunch date. They’ve been together since.

Later, Rachael went on a family vacation to Lake City, Colorado for two weeks. Brian couldn’t get off work for the trip — or so she was told. One week into the trip, Rachael and her family hiked up the Blue Lakes Trail. When they got to the lakes, her sister decided they should hike further and go to the outlook to see the lakes from above. She told Rachael where to stand so she could take a picture of her. When Rachael turned around, Brian was standing there. She couldn’t believe it when he proposed. Her whole family was in on the secret — they even brought champagne on the hike.

Rachael and Brian were married in June at Crown Heights Christian Church in Oklahoma City, where generations of Rachael’s family have been married, including her sisters, parents and grandparents. A reception followed at The Skirvin Hilton. The bride wore a dreamy BHLDN gown with a floral-covered lace bodice and a flowing tulle skirt.

The most memorable moment of the evening was when everyone went outside for the grand exit, and Brian asked the band to play one more song inside. The couple danced one last time—no photography, no guests, nobody but them. It was the most relaxed they had been all night, getting to enjoy their wedding together.

After a blissful evening, Rachael and Brian left to honeymoon in Playa Mujeres, Cancun. They currently reside in Oklahoma City.
