Teresa Marie Ward and James Andrew Rivera met at Oklahoma State University in 2008 and two years later began writing their very own love story. On a long weekend getaway to Boston, Andrew proposed to Teresa at the Boston Public Garden. The two shared a memorable dinner that night at Parker’s Restaurant as they sat at the same table John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis did after he had proposed to her.
Teresa selected a romantic theme for their nuptials. She wanted a color scheme that was a mix between masculine and feminine so she went with navy, gold and blush. The couple tied the knot at Coles Garden on September 19, 2015. Haleigh Kenney with XO Events & Design did a wonderful job turning the space into something Teresa and Andrew never could have imagined. The bride wore a stretch silk charmeuse slip dress with a net neckline by Watters and finished her look with art deco earrings by Kate Spade. Accompanying them down the aisle was their goldendoodle, Sophie.
Following the ceremony, everyone indulged in delicious food and danced the night away. Teresa and Andrew shared their first dance to “Lucky Man” by The Verve. The couple’s most memorable moment from the wedding was the dance-off they had when all their friends and family circled around them.
After Teresa and Andrew’s amazing night, the newlyweds traveled to Nassau, Bahamas for their honeymoon. The bride and groom are now spending their happily ever after in Dallas.
