After nearly eight years of dating, high school sweethearts Kaitlyn Mann and Josh McAlister could not wait for their big day to arrive. The couple exchanged vows before God and each other as the sun set over Skiatook Lake on September 12, 2015.
Around the same time one year prior, Josh proposed to Kaitlyn at White Rock Lake in Dallas. Surrounded by candles hanging in the trees and the lake in the distance, he asked the girl of his dreams to be his wife. Singing her a song he wrote and washing her feet was one of the most special moments of Kaitlyn’s life. As Josh was supposed to be in Oklahoma at the time, she was completely surprised. He also invited their families and friends to surprise the bride-to-be with an engagement party.
After a year of planning, the day finally arrived just as details were falling into place. The bridal party wore floor-length wine-colored dresses complemented by hair and makeup by Lauren Hock of the Vintage Comb. The bride looked stunning as she walked down the aisle in a lace parasol that kept her covered until she was able to see her groom face-to-face. As the curtain opened, she began to tear up at the sight of her soon-to-be husband stalanding at the end of the aisle. Josh was also tearing up at the sight of his gorgeous bride.
After the ceremony, the couple invited guests to join them for dinner and dancing. Though they had nearly 330 people in attendance, the wedding maintained a charmingly intimate setting. Guests filled the dance floor at the request of the bride and groom, and the dancing never stopped. The bride and groom are so grateful to their families and friends for this memorable day!
