Shannon Sewell Weds Brady Nichols | Rustic Fall Wedding at The Baumberhof

When Shannon and Brady first laid eyes on The Baumberhof it was absolutely love at first sight! The four-story replica of an antique German barn features intricate vaulted ceilings, wrought iron railings and accents, and a cupola at the top made completely of windows. Not to mention, it sits on 450 acres with lakes, forests, wheat fields, tree farms, orchards and an aviary! Dreamy!

This couple planned their wedding around the mantra, “people remember the food and fun and forget about the rest,” so they made sure the wedding cuisine would be extra delish! Café 7 did a beautiful charcuterie spread for their guests to enjoy during the cocktail hour as well as the most fabulous meal. They chose to serve chicken covered in a lemon butter sauce, braised short ribs, au gratin potatoes and roasted seasonal vegetables. Their guests still rave about the braised short ribs to this day!

It may have taken some time to get Brady to open up, but Shannon was determined to learn more about him from the start. Shannon was asked to be the “wing woman” for her friend and talk to the roommate of the girl’s boyfriend. Over drinks, Shannon quickly realized that even though Brady was super quiet she couldn’t get enough of trying to figure him out. After a slow start, Brady warmed up and kept Shannon laughing every day of their relationship.

Since Shannon has a type-A personality, Brady really wanted to surprise her and keep the proposal a secret. The custom-ordered ring came a week early and threw off Brady’s plans so he quickly asked for Shannon’s father’s blessing and decided to propose that night. Shannon was expecting him to propose the following weekend when she was off work but Brady couldn’t wait any longer. On their way out the door to meet friends, Brady asked Shannon to marry him in the front seat of their truck. Shannon was so shocked and surprised that she could barely breathe.
