Mutual friends had tried to get Andrew and Shaelynn together for about a month. After several text messages and ploys, their friends were successful. In hindsight, the couple is thankful for persistent friends. Andrew and Shaelynn met for the first time at George’s Pub in Jenks.

The proposal came a little more than a year later on August 4, 2015, while the couple was visiting Fairlee, Vermont. Shaelynn thought they were going into town for the evening and was surprised when they made a quick stop at the barn at Camp Lanakila. They danced to their song, “Overwhelmed.” When the song ended, Christmas lights that Andrew had decorated around the barn came on. Andrew proposed, and then the couple was joined by friends, ready to celebrate their happy day.

The couple planned their wedding for 18 months. The best decision they made was to hire wedding coordinator Mary Fencl Events. Andrew and Shaelynn enjoyed and loved every vendor they worked with, all of whom ensured their wedding day went smoothly. They were impressed with how professional Spain Ranch and Just Catering by Orr handled their setup. And the flowers from Ever Something were beautiful. In the end, Mary Fencl was a rockstar planner, and Shaelynn and Andrew enjoyed their perfect day, surrounded by a community of people who they care for and love so much.
