Shelby Simons and Ryan Forrest’s ‘something blue’ definitely was not missed in their elegant and classic light blue wedding at The Baumberhof. With a sapphire engagement ring, it’s only fitting to have hints of blue throughout the entire wedding, and we couldn’t love it more! Shelby and Ryan met in high school and attended their senior prom together, where Shelby wore white (definitely a little foreshadowing here). However, the two first attended different schools during their freshman year but reunited after spring break. The two have been together ever since! After almost seven years of dating, Ryan popped the question with an intimate proposal and a beautiful custom sapphire engagement ring. After Shelby said, “YES,” she and Ryan began planning their light blue wedding with the help of Fête.
Shelby and Ryan always knew they wanted their light blue wedding in the beautiful setting of The Baumberhof. As we know, in Oklahoma, weather is always unpredictable. Hours before showtime, a storm rolled in. Plans for an outdoor ceremony began to be unlikely, but nonetheless, Fête was there to save the day. Shelby remained calm the entire time because she knew that the Fête team had it under control. An example of why a wedding planner is SO important! Cool, calm, and collected, Shelby said “I do” to the love of her life. It may not have been her first choice being inside, but Shelby and Ryan’s ceremony was beautiful. Shelby radiated from Brushed Salon’s beauty look and a dress from J.J. Kelly Bridal Salon. After the two exchanged vows, it was time to celebrate! A light blue reception space with florals from XO by Haleigh Kenney and decor from Marianne’s Rentals and Wooden Hearts Boutique created such an elegant and timeless space. We are big fans of the candelabras that adorned each table. Next, each place setting contained menu cards with a wax seal stamp with the couple’s custom monogram from Eros Studios. This simple and little detail instantly elevates the entire place setting. Thanks to KGC Photography, every detail and moment was captured beautifully for the couple to look back on for years to come. After sharing a bite of cake from Mishelle Handy Cakes and partying on the dance floor with guests, the couple shared a final private dance before heading back to their hotel at 21c Museum Hotel. Congrats to Mr. & Mrs. Forrest! Keep scrolling to see all the light blue details in Shelby and Ryan’s wedding. Cheers!
Shelby Simons & Ryan Forrest’s Dream Wedding Maker:
“I could not recommend Tara Towns [of Fête] and Haleigh Kenney [of XO by Haleigh Kenney] enough! When I met with Tara, we hit it off right away. After all the ups and downs of planning, I knew she was my fairy godmother and would do what it takes to give us the wedding of our dreams. Tara and Haleigh listened to all of our ideas and thoughts and went above and beyond in delivering! They are a true dream team and I could not recommend them more.”
