Emily Andrews and Alex Jones’ Simple Outdoor Barn Wedding Captured by Scissortail Stories

Scissortail Stories captured the simplicity and sheer romance of Emily and Alex’s simple outdoor barn wedding with obvious ease! With the rustic, backyard-like setting of Harn Homestead, the couple opted to play up the setting’s earthy elements and keep decorative details to a minimum to make the night’s focus on what mattered most — the celebration of their love story and beginning of a joyous new chapter! Cheers to this sweet duo!

Emily and Alex’s story began at an unexpected encounter at the home of a mutual friend on March 29, 2015. It was there that Alex knew he was instantly smitten with his future bride and quickly asked her on their first date the very next day.

Exactly two years later, the couple planned to make a visit to Kansas City to attend a John Mayer concert in celebration of their anniversary. With a plot to arrive early and take Emily on a sightseeing tour, Alex led his soon-to-be fiancé through a World War I museum which ended with a photo op on the front lawn. To her surprise and delight, Alex got down on one knee saying, “It’s been two years since our first date and two years since I knew I wanted to marry you.” Excitedly accepting his proposal, the couple celebrated at the concert looking forward to the wedding planning ahead!

Deciding to keep their wedding simple and sweet, the couple left their personal imprint in each detail of the evening but keeping the true focal point on the celebration of their love among family and friends. In front of the great wood walls of Harn Homestead‘s barn, the couple took their vows to become husband and wife. Their most cherished moment of the evening was in the midst of the ceremony, taking communion and a moment to pray over each other and their new union.

Following their wedding, the newlyweds escaped to Angel Fire, New Mexico for their honeymoon. They are currently residing in Oklahoma City.
