Week after week, our team has the joy of receiving and sharing stunning weddings from across Oklahoma, all thanks to the incredibly talented vendors and wonderful couples who submit their celebrations to us. Each month, our editorial team selects one standout wedding to spotlight — a day that truly shines for its creativity, personality, and unforgettable details.
This month, we’re thrilled to feature Kassidy & Bryce’s Elegant Hotel Wedding. The couple celebrated The Mayo Hotel on January 10th, and their celebration was nothing short of a wow from start to finish.
The Wedding Day
Kassidy, the bride, works in the hotel industry, which served as a major inspiration for the details of her wedding day, planned by Embellished Weddings. The reception venue itself, the iconic Mayo Hotel in downtown, perfectly set the scene. They incorporated a charming play on their last name with the phrase “The Harrison Hotel,” featured on items like hats, koozies, and matches. Stay Gold Event Rentals created a unique seating chart using vintage motel keys as name cards, which was styled next to a cute bellhop sign featuring a custom illustration of the venue by Alexa’s Illustrations.
The reception decor was equally notable, featuring gorgeous lounge furniture, a dance floor, velvet chairs, and elegant linens all sourced from Marianne’s Rentals. Florals by Poppy Lane Design added a stunning touch, with pops of pink beautifully contrasting the white ballroom and green accents. A highlight was the hanging floral installation suspended above the dance floor.
For food and beverage, The Mayo Hotel provided the catering and bartending. Amy Cakes created both a gorgeous classic cake and a fun groom’s cake with a deeply personal detail. The bride shared the story: “I also surprised him with a groom’s cake of a cotton stripper that had the details of an OSU flag and also an orange ’11’ sticker.” This ‘11’ sticker, found on all her family’s vehicles, honors her late cousin who wore the number as a member of the OSU Basketball team and tragically passed away in a plane crash. It is also, coincidentally, their favorite number.
HOW LUCKY ARE WE
“We had a year and a half engagement and went through lots of challenges with health, family and our careers. Throughout the whole process, we just remembered to be thankful for our love for each other and the people around us. If something did not go as planned, or there was a bump in the road, we just reminded ourselves how lucky we are to even have each other and the amazing support system we had. The Mayo could’ve fallen to the ground, and there could’ve been no flowers in the state, but as long as we and our people were there with us, everything was still perfect!!!” – Kassidy, Bride
