Thoughtful and story-driven. Those words drive everything The Wild Mother does and the results are beautifully evident: these Oklahoma wedding experts know their stuff when it comes to planning, design and florals. The Wild Mother exists to know you, celebrate the details of your personality and let those shine throughout your event. “Our design aesthetic is influenced by our tie to the natural world; our love of impressionist art; and our ability to marry colors and textures, creating uncontrived and living pieces of art.” This dynamic sister duo, Lauren and Leah, pride themselves on carrying the work ethic and horticultural know-how of an old-school florist, along with the creative minds and artfulness of a modern studio designer, paired with impeccable design and planning abilities, of course. “We wanted all expressions of The Wild Mother to feel like extensions of our family’s heritage — with its many threads, rooted in red soil,” the sisters say. “It was important that our brand also reflect our identities as a team of sisters — calm, inspired and intentional. We had the pleasure of working with BNT & Co. and Dwelling Table, who captured the true essence of the natural light that pours through the studio’s west windows, the peaceful spirit of our designers and the natural colors and textures provided by our Mother.”
Lauren and Leah describe their planning process in this way: “Our design team takes the posture of a storyteller throughout the planning process, using tangible details to depict the narratives of our couples and their families. We actively listen to our clients, helping them display the essence of who they are to their guests. We not only curate aesthetically beautiful events, but also are careful to reflect the spirits of the clients we design for.”
“Our advice to newly engaged couples will always be to take into account you and your partner’s unique story, preferences and personalities before beginning to tackle wedding planning. It’s in these things that you can find the gold of what your day can reflect.” We love that wisdom!
Real Wedding Love

“Designing for Natalie and Lane’s wedding day was so special because the details reflected their charming relationship and strong familial support. Natalie asked that our designers create pieces using delicate pink colors. We sourced the most beautiful garden roses from the West Coast. We married the bride’s femininity and grace with the groom’s love of the outdoors by styling a picturesque picnic lounge; dressing the reception barn with the elegance of silk napkins and warm candle glow; and arming each guest with fans to make it easy to enjoy Hillside Manor on that summer day.”
What do the sisters notice as trending these days? “After the royal weddings of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and later Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack, we noticed our clients’ desire for garden-esque flowers and decorative desserts to be showstoppers in the event. And, of course! Did you see Meghan’s elderflower cake? The Wild Mother tip: ‘garden-esque’ doesn’t have to only feature frilly blooms like roses and hydrangeas; it also lends itself to more structural blooms like anthurium and pitcher plant. There truly is something special about the character that flowers and foliage bring into a venue when done well. This larger-than-life floral trend is one that we are absolutely here for!”
The Wild Mother‘s expertise can’t help but be evident in everything they do and share. Their work truly speaks for itself and shows their passion! To get in touch with Lauren and Leah, reach out via their Brides of Oklahoma vendor profile.
