Prashanthi and Stephen first met when they were set up by his brother whom she worked with. Stephen texted Prashanthi and they ended up connecting over board games! Their first phone conversation lasted about two hours and that’s when they realized there was something special between the two. Now, in their upcoming August affair, Prashanthi says she is most excited about the blending of backgrounds that will be incorporated into every part of their wedding celebration. “I love that our wedding celebrates both of our backgrounds,” she says. “I get to wear the white gown as well as the traditional Indian saree. Everything you love about Indian and American weddings is being combined in one weekend!” And a full wedding weekend they planned – with each day coinciding with a different color scheme and theme! The first day of their nuptials will consist of whimsical Indian decor and florals in shades of orange, red and yellow. The next will be a classic white wedding with a musical festival twist in blush and pink hues, while the last day will be clad with authentic and traditional Indian decor – a mandap covered in marigolds and greenery for the ceremony and an icy blue winter wonderland theme inside for the reception. From the bride: “(When Stephen proposed) he surprised me on a random Monday morning before work. It was early and I was still in my pajamas. When I answered the door he was already down on one knee (fully dressed) holding the ring up and shaking nervously. He managed to get out the words, ‘I love you, will you marry me?’ I had no idea it was coming, but I immediately said yes!”
