Although they knew of each other for quite some time, Shannon and Dennis never thought that their eventual meeting through a mutual friend would lead to a courtship and eventually marriage!
It was on a relaxing vacation to Playa del Carmen that Dennis popped the question. After many failed attempts to conduct the dinnertime beach proposal that week, due to unexpected weather problems and overbooked dinner reservations, Dennis had a beautifully prepared dinner moved to their suite. But just as the couple began their main course, the power went out throughout the entire resort. Their waiter lit candles around the Jacuzzi, and just as dessert was being delivered, the power came back on. As Shannon uncovered her plate, she was surprised to look down and find a ring on her plate and Dennis down on one knee.
Though the wedding date of March 1, 2013, will already be a special day for the couple, it will hold a place near and dear to Shannon’s heart as the it is shared with her father’s birthday who passed away in January of 2012. Both their wedding and reception will be held at Gaylord Pickens Oklahoma Heritage Museum. Cheers to Shannon and Dennis and thanks to BRC Photography for sharing their adorable engagement session!
