Ballroom Oklahoma Wedding Featuring Tony Foss Flowers | Michelle + Quoc
August 12
Michelle and Quoc first met through mutual friends. He was living in Houston while she was in Dallas, so through a long-distance relationship the couple endured the test of time and patience. The proposal took place in none other than the cliché City of Love. Little did she know that she would be in for a “small” surprise. After spending time in various cities the couple ended up in Paris where in the beautiful Gardens of Versailles, Quoc got down on one knee.
Although Michelle and Quoc both live in Texas, they decided it would be best to celebrate their nuptials close to cherished friends and family in Oklahoma City. Growing up in traditional Vietnamese families, their wedding day included not just the typical church ceremony and dinner reception, but also a “30-hour day,” so it seemed, incorporating Vietnamese customs and attire. Such practices include the groom and his family arriving at the home of the bride on the morning of their wedding to present her and her family with dowries including wine, tea, fruits and jewelry.
The bride and her bridesmaids wore custom “ao dai” dresses, which are traditional Vietnamese attire. For the church ceremony, Michelle glowed in her ivory silk Mori Lee dress as she walked down the aisle of the magnificent Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. She also wore custom tulle sleeves made personally by the groom’s aunt of Kim Hoa’s Tailor Shop and a cathedral-length French veil with an alencon lace border. Her bridesmaids were in shades of pearl, pink and fuchsia with custom birdcage veils crafted by the bride’s mother.
When asked of the most memorable moment of their day, Michelle and Quoc agree that it was when they exited the church as a newly wed couple and were greeted by a sea of of bubbles courtesy of beloved family and friends.
