Kelley and Katie met online after Kelley reached out to her. They have mutual friends but never crossed paths. The two met on a warm fall day and quickly hit things off.
The couple traveled to Asheville, North Carolina for the Fourth of July with Kelley’s parents. They went to the romantic Grove Park Inn and dined outside with a beautiful backdrop of mountains. During lunch, they walked to picturesque fountains where Katie gave Kelley some change to make a wish. After Kelley threw in the coins she looked down to see Katie on one knee. Katie then proposed and Kelley of course said yes!
The couple wed on May 7, 2016 at the McGranahan Barn coordinated by Stephyn Spears with Southern Charm Events. The theme for their wedding was vintage rustic elegance. Kelley loves pale pinks and Katie’s suit was grey, so the couple chose the hues to be their color scheme for their big day. Kelley walked down the aisle in the Florence Gown from Claire Pettibone’s Gothic Angel Collection. The silver-striped French lace gown featured a sweetheart neckline and fringed quatrefoil Guipure illusion back. Kelley completed her look with her “something blue” sapphire and diamond necklace her dad had given her, and a Pandora bracelet from Katie.
Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed dinner catered by Redrock Canyon Grill and astounding music from DJ Saad. Kelley and Katie shared their first dance to “Die a Happy Man” by Thomas Rhett. The father-daughter dance, and garter and bouquet toss followed.
After an incredible evening, the newlyweds spent their honeymoon in St. Lucia before returning home to Nichols Hills where they currently reside.
