When Emily moved to Oklahoma from Tennessee, she had no idea she would experience undeniable chemistry with Sam in their chemistry class. Their first date was spent hiking the Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge and they have been inseparable since!

Emily’s parents moved to Canada in 2015 and shortly after, the couple planned a trip to visit them at Christmas. Sam surprised Emily with a trip to Montreal for New Year’s Eve. The pair arrived to Old Montreal and wandered the snowy city. He pointed out Mont Royal, a small mountain, that overlooks the city and convinced her to walk with him to the peak. At the top, Sam proposed to Emily with the most magical ring he had been secretly designing for months. The elated couple spent the rest of the New Year holiday exploring the city, and visiting every bakery, pub and restaurant.

On the morning of their wedding day, Emily excitedly slipped into her “something new” earrings, her “something blue” ribbon her mother embroidered into her bouquet, and her “something borrowed and old” gold bracelet from her mother. The bride was put at ease knowing planner Talia Morgan of Inspire Events & Design had everything under control.

To showcase their love of the outdoors, Emily and Sam were wed in a simple ceremony at the Myriad Botanical Gardens. The couple exchanged personal vows that surprisingly sounded almost identical. Saying “I do” in the terrace amongst throngs of flowers was perfect. From a close friend officiating their wedding to another friend leading a jazz band for guests to follow to the reception, Emily and Sam’s day was centered on family and friends. Emily fondly remembers dancing into the night with her new husband, friends and family. Guests of all ages tore up the dance floor until the venue closed!
