This wedding totally reminds us how fun pops of color can be! We love the Kate Spade-esque feel of the navy and pink with punches of sunflowers – gorgeous! Maddie and Tyler’s wedding at Oklahoma wedding venue Harn Homestead is perfect inspiration for the bride-to-be searching for that versatile rustic wedding venue. Read more of their sweet story below:
Maddie Reynolds and Tyler Meyer met at a Thunder game in December 2010 during their senior year of high school. Given the special connection between the pair and Thunder games, Maddie always expected Tyler to pop the question at one. However, Tyler had a different, more romantic idea. On a gorgeous day in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, Maddie and Tyler took a hot air balloon ride overlooking the mountains. As the balloon was taking off, Tyler told her to look over the side. When she did, she was shocked to see both of their families standing in T-shirts that spelled out “Will you marry me?” When Maddie turned around to see Tyler, he was on one knee, proposing to her!
After months of wedding planning excitement, Maddie and Tyler exchanged vows at the Harn Homestead on August 31, 2014. Maddie looked stunning in her bridal gown and elegant flower crown from Forage Floral. She kept her look simple and accessorized with Kate Spade “Mrs.” earrings and a Pandora pearl bracelet. Her bouquet was complete with sunflowers, Amsterdams, large pink garden roses, succulents, blue thistle and Billy balls held together with gorgeous white satin and gold pins. Before the ceremony, the couple started a tradition of their own by signing a bible and writing a message in it to pass down to their future children.
To add some sentiment to their day, Maddie wore a pair of boots that her father bought her mother on one of their first dates. She says that these boots are the favorite things she owns. The couple and their loved ones enjoyed a night of celebration thanks to the help of their coordinator Kathy McCurly. The couple danced their first dance to the sweet Lee Brice’s song “I Don’t Dance.” Looking back on their special day, Maddie says her most memorable moment was when her maid of honor decided to rap her speech to her own version of “Ice Ice Baby” and had the whole crowd laughing hysterically.
From a surprise romantic proposal to a perfectly planned wedding, Maddie and Tyler’s story is one for the books! The happy couple now resides in McAlester. Their honeymoon is set for the Bahamas, however was a little delayed since they moved houses just one day before their wedding. They are now embracing their new titles of Mr. and Mrs. while Maddie is a nurse and Tyler is a firefighter.
