Dru Boyd and Brooks Walker’s Vintage Victorian Garden Party Wedding

Dru and Brooks were high school sweethearts who fell for one another early on. She was a football trainer and he was a football player. After high school, Dru went to Texas Christian University, while Brooks went to Oklahoma State University making them long-distance for a few years.

Brooks surprised Dru with a proposal with the help of Abbey at Gaillardia Country Club. One day, Abbey asked Dru to meet her at Gaillardia to chat about her wedding. When she got there, she saw Brooks who led her to the gazebo on the lawn. He pulled out a letter he wrote to make sure he said everything he wanted to and popped the question!

The couple had a vintage Victorian wedding with a magical garden party flair planned by About Last Night Events. The berry-toned palette was beautiful with complements of blush pink and gold. The invitations by Paper+More were unique but traditional with gold-foiled text and a gold monogram. Dru walked down the aisle in a Maggie Sottero ball gown with a cathedral-length veil that her mother wore exactly 39 years prior on her wedding day. Her bouquet consisted of large peonies, dahlias and roses with her grandmother’s brooch pinned on it.

The cocktail hour at Gaillardia was flawless, with yard games from Marianne’s Rentals, a popcorn bar set in a reading nook, a s’mores bar, a specialty sangria cocktail, lounge furniture from Ruby’s Vintage Rentals and stunning florals from The Fleuriste. When the sun went down, the chandeliers and fairy lights on the grass from Innovative Event Solutions turned the lawn into a magical place! Guests enjoyed live music from Hook and a Polaroid photo station, and Rumble the Bison surprised everyone with an appearance! The wedding cake and groom’s dessert bar created by Mishelle Handy Cakes was not only delicious, but made a stunning focal point for the event.

After an enchanting evening, the couple exited the ballroom through sparklers to their vintage car, and fireworks shot off as the car passed. The happy couple honeymooned in St. Lucia, and now currently resides in Oklahoma City.
