Amy and Brandon’s elegant Tulsa wedding photographed by Andrea Murphy Photography is luxe and lovely. Read on to find out how this sweet couple met and all about their big day!
It was Valentines Day, and Amy had no idea that this would be a holiday she would never forget. On this special day at the Concord Hotel, the love of her life, Brandon DeHart, knelt on bended knee and proposed Amy spend the rest of her life with him. After accepting his proposal with a kiss and some tears, the couple finished their romantic dinner. While eating, Brandon dropped another bomb on Amy. He was leaving for six months for the OHP live-in academy. Looking back, Amy says this was a very bittersweet moment. However, she was thankful and happy that she now got to commit her life to Brandon and look forward to a wedding, making the six months go by much faster.
The two were married on October 10, 2014, at the Philbrook Museum of Art. Pastor Matt Vanderttol of Life Church officiated the ceremony. Following a morning of rain, rain and more rain, Amy’s father, Randy L. Gill, escorted her down a dry and storm free aisle. She wore a Watters Couture gown from J.J. Kelly Bridal Salon, in candlelight with a strapless empire bodice covered in imported French alencon lace. The lace released an A-line skirt and layers of silk organza, delicately embellished with lace motifs cascading into a chapel train. A pave’ jeweled comb in her hair held a cathedral veil hemmed with matching French alencon lace and designed by Toni Federici. Amy’s shoes were custom lace ivory wedge heels from Shoes of Prey. To complete her wedding look, Amy wore chandelier drop earrings of white gold tipped with ivory pearls, a delicate white gold and diamond tennis bracelet, and her late paternal grandmothers antique white gold and diamond ring as her “something old.” Amy carried a bouquet designed by The French Bouquet filled with white hydrangeas, Eskimo roses, white tulips and pink lisianthus cupped with ivory antique French hand lace.
Amy’s bridesmaids wore floor-length black lace gowns with a bateau neckline. The plunging backs were accented with buttons and customized aubergine satin belts. Each also wore a single strand of Honora Premier Luster pearls gifted to them from the bride. They carried similar bouquets to that of the bride’s, replacing the pink lisianthus with purple. The couple’s wedding party of eight included Brandon’s brother, Larson DeHart, serving as his best man, and Amy’s maid of honor was her good friend, Rachel Bailey. Integra DeHart served as the adorable flower girl and stole the show as she strutted down the aisle.
The couple held their reception at the LaVilla Restaurant located inside the Philbrook. Andrea Murphy Photography was able to capture amazing pictures from the night that will last the couple a lifetime. In fact, Amy says that taking pictures with Andrea was some of the most fun she has ever had! The couple, with close friends and family enjoyed an evening filled with music, wine and great food. They shared their first dance as a married couple to “One Woman” by Randy Rogers Band. When reminiscing on their special day, Amy says that her most memorable moment was when Grace Hawkinson, from the Philbrook, informed her that the rain had cleared and the ceremony was going to be held in the gardens. Standing in one of the beautiful gardens and seeing her groom waiting at the other end for her, was a moment that Amy says she will treasure forever.
After celebrating with loved ones, the newlyweds had some alone time in the beautiful island of Maiu, Hawaii. The couple spent days relaxing and enjoying their new titles of Mr. and Mrs. Amy and Brandon now currently reside in Yukon, Oklahoma, where Amy is an emergency/trauma nurse, and Brandon is a state trooper with Oklahoma State Highway Patrol. the couple wish to give special thanks to J.J.Kelly Bridal Salon, the lovely ladies at PRIMP Hair and Makeup and Andrea Murphy Photogtraphy.
