Glam Tulsa Wedding at The Mayo Hotel | Sarah + Kyle

There’s nothing more opulent than a ballroom wedding at The Mayo Hotel, and Sarah and Kyle’s wedding is oh-so-glam. Read on for more details of their big day:

Sarah Hummel and Kyle Brown were married October 11, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church of Tulsa. Their opulent reception followed at The Mayo Hotel.

Kyle and Sarah wanted their reception to be an elegant dinner party. The couple chose a gold and ivory color palette featuring an abundance of white and ivory flowers, candles and personalized gold accents.

Cocktail hour was held in The Mayo’s Great Hall and featured his and her signature cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. The focal point of the cocktail hour was the escort card tree. Instead of a traditional escort card table, a 24-foot tree was erected allowing guests to “pick” their cards from the tree. Following cocktail hour, guests moved to the Crystal Ballroom for a seated dinner where they dined on prime filet mignon with bordelaise sauce and herb roasted chicken with mushrooms. Following dinner, guests enjoyed a photo booth, coffee bar, donut hole station and specialty popcorn.

The ballroom entrance was ensconced in a wall of handmade, custom paper flowers with a table of family wedding photos on display nearby. Dramatic chandeliers hung over the head table casting a romantic glow throughout the room. The couple’s monogram was displayed on the walls with breathtaking uplighting softening the ballroom.

Ever the music lovers, music played an important for the couple. A string trio played during the ceremony, a jazz quartet played during the cocktail hour, and Wade Tower and his band kept the guests dancing during the reception.

The couple integrated many family heirlooms into their special day: Sarah’s bouquet featured brooches from her grandmothers and a handkerchief from her mother, the ring pillow was used in Kyle’s parents’ wedding, the unity candles were also used in the wedding ceremonies of both sets of parents, and Sarah wore her mother’s wedding dress during the reception.
