Jana Laughlin and Christopher O’Kelley’s Organic Oklahoma Wedding at Barn at The Woods

Jana and Chris first met in high school. Their love story officially started after they shared their first kiss on New Year’s Eve of 2004. They have dated on and off since high school, but they finally realized they couldn’t live without each other. One Christmas, Jana came home from work to candles and a note leading her into the house where Chris was waiting for her. He popped the question, and afterward, they popped champagne with their family to celebrate.

The pair chose the Barn at the Woods for their wedding day because they loved the intimate feeling of the secluded barn and Victorian home. Their natural and organic wedding perfectly fit the venue with hues of white, nude, navy, and sage green. The bride walked down the aisle in the Blush by Hayley Paige’s Ginger gown that featured an empire-waist with long sleeves, and lace and sheer elements. Jana couldn’t get to Chris fast enough as he awaited their “I dos” under a gorgeous tree. The first look was the most memorable moment for the bride and groom. They couldn’t wait to be married!

The reception to follow was just what the couple had envisioned. The dinner, consisting of chicken kabobs, carrots, Brussels sprouts, roasted potatoes and rolls, was a perfect and delicious fall meal. For dessert, the three-tier wedding cake was alternating layers of German chocolate, carrot cake and banana complete with cream cheese icing throughout, all provided by OkieCookies. Jason Swanson provided the entertainment for the ceremony, and he sang “More of You” by Chris Stapleton for the bride and groom’s first dance at the reception.

Jana couldn’t have been more impressed with the work that Heather from Forever Cole Events accomplished. She decorated and planned everything exactly the way Jana wanted. Through working with Heather, Jana learned that hiring a wedding planner is a must in order to relax and enjoy the process. She advises future brides to make your wedding day all about you and your groom. Just enjoy your day!

The newlyweds took a road trip from Salt Lake City to Denver for their honeymoon. The happy couple is now enjoying married life in Yukon.
