Jessica Shadid and Bryan Beavers Classic Country Club Oklahoma Wedding
Jessica often chuckles when people ask how she and Bryan first met. She playfully admits that he probably saw her in the hallways her freshman year at Heritage Hall when he was a senior—but failed to notice. They both attended the University of Oklahoma and continued to cross paths, but once again as a freshman and a senior. It wasn’t until after college that the age gap began to shrink, and they finally connected meeting socially. The meetings turned into dates and eventually the two fell in love. Bryan planned a fall proposal complete with pumpkins lined in a row carrying carvings of, “Will You Marry Me?”
With nine months to plan, Jessica took off and never looked back. She wanted the fairytale wedding complete with all the enchanted details. With the help of wedding coordinators The Fleuriste and Eventures, the team worked to plan the couple’s perfect nuptials. The ceremony was held at St. Elijah Orthodox Christian Church with a traditional Orthodox ceremony. The reception took place at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club. Jessica wanted to transform the club into an enchanted garden complete with a magical theme. Plentiful food and fun was also on the planning agenda. And, of course, the princess wedding gown she had always dreamed of wearing was a must!
The bride chose a custom gown by Amalia Carrara for Eve of Milady. The dress was a quintessential bridal ball gown with intricate gold- and silver-embroidered lace appliques over ivory English net, an elongated waistline, and sweetheart neckline. The glamorous full skirt was finished with a delicate scalloped lace hem and dramatic cathedral-length train with gold-embroidered edge by the same designer.
The club was transformed into an enchanted garden with flowers cascading from the ceiling, moss-based tables and a waterfall at the entrance. Guests were treated to a cocktail buffet and dancing to the high-energy sounds of In10City Band. Cocktail hour consisted of risotto fritters, spring rolls, Swedish meatballs, salmon tartar and mini quiche. The cocktail buffet served beef tenderloin, Caesar salad, twice-baked potatoes, mahi and pork tacos, jumbo shrimp cocktail, lobster macaroni and cheese, sliders, and traditional Lebanese cuisine. The six-tiered wedding cake by Amy Cakes had eight smaller cakes surrounding the base and was adorned with sugar flowers, fruit, and butterflies in pastel colors. Lighting and soft seating as well as a custom dance floor helped set the mood for a night of celebration.
