Katelyn Connelly + Patrick Altendorf’s Oklahoma Wedding at Gaillardia

Katelyn and Patrick met through mutual friends in Oklahoma City after attending separate colleges; she attended the University of Oklahoma and he went to Oklahoma State University. After multiple recommendations from friends and family, Patrick and Katelyn decided to meet. Katelyn’s cousin, a pledge brother of Patrick’s, hosted a special happy hour for the two to meet.

Katelyn and Patrick became engaged at Gaillardia Country Club where he surprised her by taking her to the courtyard while both of their families excitedly waited. The couple’s nieces and nephews held signs that read, “Will you marry me?” After she said yes and they shared a champagne toast with family, the newly engaged couple celebrated at Katelyn’s cousin’s house, which happened to be the same place they met.

Wedding festivities began with the rehearsal dinner at Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club. On the afternoon of January 16, 2016, Katelyn and Patrick tied the knot at Christ the King Catholic Church. The winter wedding provided unseasonably warm weather even with a chance of snow in the morning hours. The reception began soon after with a cocktail hour followed by dinner and dancing in the main ballroom at Gaillardia Country Club. Before the couple’s entrance into the reception, Patrick switched into a white dinner coat to continue a family tradition; the surprise wardrobe change set the tone for the evening. Wade Tower provided vocals during the cocktail hour and dinner, and he concluded with playing songs for all the first dances. As Wade completed his set, the dance floor opened with music by Dave and The Wavetones. The reception was an amazing, celebratory evening full of great friends and family. The reception concluded with Katelyn and Patrick exiting Gaillardia into the chilly, winter air full of white rose petals thrown by guests as they jumped into a golf cart to end their perfect night.

The couple now resides in Tulsa where Katelyn is a pre-school teacher and Patrick is a project manager.
